Evelyn Ashford is a retired American track and field athlete and an Olympic. Born in Louisiana, U.S., she partook in her first Olympic Games in 1976 at only 19 years of age and finished 5th in the 100m event. After beating several world records in 1980 she had another chance at Olympic gold in 1984 and won. Overall, she won Olympic gold 4 times in her career one of only 6 women overall to achieve this feat. Ashford is inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1997.

Born in Toronto, Canada, she was only 14, when she started her gaming career first by playing pool for money and later expanding to dealing blackjack and poker games. Evelyn Ng achieved world wide fame in 2003 when she placed second in the World Poker Tour (WPT), ahead of other known professionals such as Annie Duke, Kathy Liebert and Jennifer Harman. Evelyn Vida Baxter was a Scottish naturalist and ornithologist. As the first woman ever, she received the Union Medal of the British Ornithological Union in 1959 shortly before her death. Baxter was especially interested in bird migration and, together with her life-long companion Leonora Jeffrey Rintoul, she took up bird watching at the Isle of May from 1905 forward. E. V. Baxter was one of four co-founders of the Scottish Ornithologists Club in 1936. She co-wrote several books with Rintould, for example: The Birds of the Isle of May (1918) or Birds of Scotland (1953).
