Levi Celerio was a Filipino composer, poet and lyricist. He is widely known for his folk and popular music and as the author of over 4,000 Filipino songs. He is considered one of the National Artists of the Philippines, the highest recognition given to an artist who has made a significant contribution to the development of Philippine art. He is the first Filipino to have written a full-length movie musical and to have penned a symphonic poem, both of which were premiered by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

Levi was one of the twelve sons of Jacob and one of the progenitors of the Levites in the Old Testament of the Bible. He was the son of Leah and Jacob and the brother of Judah, Simeon, Reuben and others. The Levites were a group of priests and temple servants in ancient Israel who were engaged in temple service and the care of the sacred objects. They were also responsible for maintaining order in the Temple and for instructing the people in God's laws. The Levites were descended from Levi, and it is said that God assigned them this service to bless Jacob and his descendants.

Levi Strauss (1829 - 1902)
Levi Strauss was a German-American entrepreneur who designed and produced the first jeans in the 19th century together with his business partner Jacob Davis. He was born in Bavaria, Germany and emigrated to the USA at the age of 18, where he began to work as a textile trader and initially worked mainly with gold miners who needed long-lasting and robust work trousers. In 1873, he began to manufacture jeans made of sturdy denim fabric and reinforced with bronze rivets. These jeans were sold under the name 'Levi's'.

Levi Woodbury (1789 - 1851)
Woodbury was an American jurist, politician and judge who served as US Secretary of the Treasury under President Andrew Jackson (1831 - 1834) and as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court (1845 - 1851). He received a limited education but was able to teach himself law and began practicing in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Woodbury was known for his strong devotion to the principles of the US Constitution and it was important to him to respect the text of the Constitution and the intent of the framers.
