What does the name
Franco mean?

While Frank is still a popular name in the US, its Italian form Franco is pretty rare and only used since the 1950s. The name Frank comes from a Germanic tribe, the Franks. They settled in the regions now called France, Belgium and the Netherlands in the 3rd and 4th century.

The Franks possibly... derived their tribal name from a type of spear that they used, from Proto-Germanic 'frankô'.

On average, first names in the US (not counting hyphenated names) are 6.5 letters long. There are no significant differences between boys' and girls' names.
