The first name Ariana comes from ancient Greek and is derived from the words ‘ari’ and ‘hagnos’. In addition to the translation ‘the pure’, the name means ‘coming from the city of Adria’. Ariana is the English variant of Ariadne, who in Greek mythology is the daughter of King Minos of Crete.

Kukors was an accomplished competitive swimmer who competed in the U.S. and World Championships. She won the gold medal in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships in Victoria. After her career as an active swimmer, Kukors worked as a coach and trainer.

Ariana Nozeman was the first professional actress in the Netherlands. She debuted on the Amsterdam stage in 1655. At that time, women's roles were mostly played by men. She received 76.50 guilders for 17 performances, making her fee higher than most male actors. She even earned more than her husband, the master comedian Gillis Nozeman, because she used her own expensive costumes. In addition to these achievements, she was also the first woman to perform as a ballet dancer and, together with her husband, the first acting couple in Dutch theater history.
