The former American actor became famous for his portrayal of a caveman in 'Quest for Fire' (1981). One of his greatest roles was that of Big Ed Hurley in David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks' (1990 - 1991). Although he retired from acting in 1999, he returned for the revival of the series.
